Founder and President of Baltimore Steel Partners, Inc. (BSP, Inc.—www.bspsteel.com) a Baltimore-based business solutions company since 2003, focused on North American steel consuming customers through direct representation of world-class steel producers.
Previously, Vice President of Sales for Bethlehem Steel Corporation from 1998 until 2003 when the company was sold to Wilbur Ross’ International Steel Group (ISG). While at Bethlehem, he served for 4 years within the Washington D.C.-based American Iron & Steel Institute (AISI) as Chairman of the Construction Market Committee, the largest consuming steel market in North America.
Commercial leadership roles at Bethlehem included executive liaison (VP-Sales) to Bethlehem’s National Customers; General Manager of Sales for Sparrows Point Steel Division; Product Marketing Manager for sheet products and Sales Manager for Bethlehem’s Baltimore Sales office.
He holds a BS in Metallurgical Engineering from University of Missouri-Rolla, where he was knighted as an Honorary Knight of St. Patrick in 2002, one of the highest honors awarded by the university; attended The Executive Program at University of Michigan plus the Leadership Academy at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
He and his wife, Jan, have been married 32 years and have four children.
